Attunement Process is a specialised way of working with and understanding non-verbal communication in diverse contexts.
Attunement Process was developed by Rachel Porter as a means to access and understand the fundamentals of communication and relationship in a way that opens up connectivity between people, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Rachel is a specialist in the field of working with non-verbal communication in the creative arts therapies and beyond. She is a published academic and lecturer. Alongside her MA students she trains people in numerous different professions and settings. She is passionate about developing new, expansive ideas around communicative and interpersonal diversity.
Training will enable healthcare practitioners to facilitate clients through structured therapeutic attunement sessions. For other professionals, Attunement Process will enrich the ways they can relate empathically and understand the non-verbal communications of others they work with.
Students will have 1-1 tutorials with Rachel and receive detailed feedback and time to process and practise developments in their own practice. Each student will eventually leave the whole training with a tailor-made plan for Attunement Process session to fit into their work setting.

The first step in this work is in understanding one’s own interpersonal style and attunement patterns.

We will learn about how to go beyond mirroring in order to develop the therapeutic and creative encounter.

We will examine the details of all modes of attunement along with Daniel Stern’s theory of interpersonal development.

We will bring more nuanced elements into the Attunement Process to create a greater sense of expertise.
